Dear Mattie Families,
I hope your summer has been filled with fun and that you made wonderful memories! It is my joy and pleasure to welcome you and your child to the 2025-2026 school year at Mattie Washburn! We are ready to welcome your little ones into the school year, and with your partnership and support, I know we will accomplish amazing things this year!

Please make sure your ParentSquare app is downloaded and updated. This ensures that you will receive ALL our district and school events, posts and important information. We have various important dates leading up to the first day of school and you don't want to miss out! I look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Teacher Assignment

We know many of you are feeling both excited and a little anxious to find out who your student’s teacher will be for the 2025–2026 school year! This year, all WUSD schools are working together to share teacher assignments through Aeries.

Teacher assignments will be available in Aeries starting Tuesday, August 12th.

Please note: These assignments are not final and may still change before the first day of school.

Data Confirmation

Data Confirmation MUST be completed by Aug. 4, 2025. Students whose families have not completed data confirmation run the risk of having their access to school accounts and devices de-activated before the start of school. Please be sure to complete data confirmation before Aug. 4 to avoid any issues.

Open Campus Dates and Times

Each year, Mattie opens the campus the day before school starts to give families and students a chance to see where classrooms are located. This year, the campus will be open on Wednesday, August 13th from 4:00–8:00 PM.
Please note: classrooms will not be open during this time.
As a reminder, Mattie is a closed campus throughout the school year. However, to support a smooth transition during the first week, the campus will be open for morning drop-off only from August 14th to August 22nd.
Starting Monday, August 25th, we will return to our closed campus policy.

TK Families Only

Due to the young age of our TK students, Mattie allows parents to enter campus for pick-up only and wait outside their child’s classroom door throughout the school year.
All TK students will be dropped off at the designated “TK Gate.” (Please see the attached map for reference.)
More detailed information will be shared during TK Orientation on August 12th.

Drop-off and Pick-Up Rules and Policies- PLEASE READ
New and returning families, we would like to point out that there are designated pick-up zones for each grade level. Drop-off zones are listed too (slightly different than pick-up zones).

Pick-Up Zones:

Blue: 2nd Grade
Aqua: 1st Grade PICK UP ONLY
Fuchsia: Kinder
Green: TK

Drop-Off Zones:
Blue: K-2
Aqua: NOT AVAILABLE FOR DROP OFF
Fuchsia: K-2
Green: TK

Please note: 1st Grade pick up area is ONLY designated for pick-up. This area is NOT available for drop-off.
